new pats posted - 20080819 (maintenance pats release)

31771 patterns, 11369 right anchor strings, 109713 test IPs.

Contribs from last week.

NOTE that I've added the 'UNASSIGNED' type to rightanchors, so any
rightanchors that had been tagged with type unassigned (which would
previously default to 'generic') are now explicitly tagged as such.

Was asked to start tracking couplets (pattern class and tech, taken
together as a sort of meta-identifier); there are no new couplets in
this release.

Rob McEwen launches new site for invaluement DNSBL

A mix of three different DNSBLs, one a URI blacklist, one a standard "sender IP" blacklist, and another expressed in terms of whole netblocks, Rob's invaluement DNSBL service launched recently. It's a for-pay service, and though I don't subscribe, I know folks who do who report that it is effective at catching stuff other DNSBLs do not.

Davidson proves to be a scumbag to the last

Unable to face his own failure to evade prosecution and sentencing, and unable to bear imprisonment, even of the most country club sort, "spam king" Eddie Davidson walked off from prison and finally shot his wife and two of his children, killing two and leaving two as orphans.
