Phishing Scams Force UK Banks to Delay Some Transfers
According to this Techworld article, UK banks are instituting measures to fight phishing scams, among which are delays in first-time cash transfers between accounts. As there are already delays for inter-bank transfers, this is largely targetting intra-bank transfers, especially those where the transfer is from one account to another to which no previous transfers had been approved. This will allow them to examine such transfers for evidence of fraud. (via spam-l)
